Everybody Hurts: Powerful, Gripping, Emotionally Charged Piece About Drinking and Driving

By Barbara Ficarra, RN, BSN, MPA

A powerful and gripping piece by the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) in Victoria about  drinking and driving, and the use of illicit drugs.

Words cannot depict this powerful and graphic piece.  Take a look:

TAC Campaign – 20 year Anniversary retrospective montage “Everybody Hurts”

“On December 10, 1989 the first TAC commercial went to air.  That year the road toll was 776.  20 years on it has fallen to 303.  There is still a long way to go.”

A very real, moving and unforgiving video. I have never seen it air on television in Hawaii. Our instructor played it for us yesterday during a drug/alcohol awareness/detection training seminar. Maybe this is what the public needs to see. Perhaps more people will get the message that very bad things can, do and quite possibly will happen when you drive while impaired. I know that the police, firefighters and paramedics would be grateful to experience a scene like this, even if only one time less each holiday season. Thank you for sharing such a powerful video.
