About Stuart Gitlow, MD, MPH:
Stuart Gitlow, MD, MPH, MBA, received his bachelor of science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, his medical degree at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and his master’s degree in public health from the University of Pittsburgh. While in Pittsburgh, he obtained SBIR funding to study patient response to computer-based educational material. Following his residency training in psychiatry in Pittsburgh, he joined the addiction psychiatry faculty at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard University. There, he completed a fellowship in forensic psychiatry. Dr. Gitlow, now an officer of the American Society of Addiction Medicine, was awarded a perpetual endowment by the Annenberg Foundation for his longitudinal study of educational techniques designed to stimulate medical student interest in addiction medicine. He is currently on faculty at both Mount Sinai School of Medicine and Dartmouth. Dr. Gitlow serves as delegate to the AMA from the American Society of Addiction Medicine and is a member of the AMA’s Council on Science & Public Health.
