About Edie Brous, RN, Esq.

Ms. Brous is a Nurse Attorney in private practice in New York City where she specializes in professional licensure defense, medical malpractice and nursing advocacy. She has practiced in major litigation law firms representing nurses, physicians, hospitals and pharmaceutical companies. Edie is admitted to practice before the bars of the state courts of New York and New Jersey, the Southern and Eastern Districts of the New York Federal Courts and the United States Supreme Court. She is a member of many bar associations and nursing organizations and serves on the board of directors for The American Association of Nurse Attorneys, the Center for Nursing Advocacy and the National Nursing Network Organization.

Ms. Brous has an extensive clinical and managerial background in OR, Emergency and Critical Care Nursing. In addition to her law degree, she holds masters degrees in Public Health and in Critical Care Nursing from Columbia University. Formerly clinical adjunct faculty at Columbia University, she currently teaches Administrative Law at Mercy College and The Law and Medicine at Hunter College. Ms. Brous has lectured and published extensively on legal issues for nurses and brings a wealth of experience to her seminars.
